Anthony Edwards will be on the floor Friday night after all, giving the Minnesota Timberwolves a needed boost heading into a pivotal Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs. Minnesota entered the night with questions surrounding Edwards’ left knee after the All-Star guard carried a questionable tag into the matchup. By the afternoon, the uncertainty faded. The Timberwolves cleared him to play as the series shifts to Minneapolis, tied at 1-1.Game 2 exposed how badly the Timberwolves need rhythm and shot creation after San Antonio controlled long stretches on Wednesday night. Edwards has not looked fully comfortable through the opening two games, averaging 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while playing limited minutes. Still, even an injured Edwards changes the shape of Minnesota’s offense and gives the home crowd a reason to believe momentum can swing back quickly.

Anthony Edwards’ final injury report for Game 3 against Spurs

Minnesota listed Edwards as questionable because of a bone bruise in his left knee, but the concern never fully escalated into panic. ESPN’s Anthony Slater shared the latest update before tipoff, writing: “Anthony Edwards is cleared for Game 3.”The report also added, “Ayo Dosunmu is out going through his normal pregame workout. Game-time decision still, per Finch.”Edwards played through the same injury during the first two games of the Western Conference semifinal series, although the Timberwolves have been careful with his workload. There is also no guarantee he will immediately return to the starting lineup. Rookie guard Terrence Shannon Jr. has handled increased minutes recently and could continue in that role while Minnesota eases Edwards back into full game shape. The Timberwolves badly need more production from their star guard after struggling offensively in Game 2. Jaden McDaniels and Julius Randle each scored 12 points in the loss, but Minnesota never consistently matched San Antonio’s pace or energy.

Spurs vs. Timberwolves: Injury report

While Minnesota continues to manage multiple injuries, San Antonio enters Game 3 fully healthy. That gives the Spurs a clear advantage in depth as they try to steal another road win and grab control of the series.Victor Wembanyama dominated Game 2 with 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Stephon Castle added 21 points and four assists in one of his strongest playoff performances yet.Minnesota’s injury report is more crowded. Ayo Dosunmu is still dealing with right heel soreness after exiting Game 2 early, and his status stayed uncertain leading into Friday night. Donte DiVincenzo remains out for the season after Achilles surgery, leaving the Timberwolves thinner in the backcourt rotation.
