TN political drama: Dhinakaran says his party MLA-elect is missing, accuses Vijay’s TVK of ‘horse-trading,’ urges governor to invite EPS to form govt

CHENNAI: After Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay called on Governor R V Arlekarand staked claim to form the next govt in Tamil Nadu, AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran on Friday night met the governor and accused TVK of indulging in “horse-trading.”Calling it “a mockery of democracy”, Dhinakaran said he had urged the governor to take serious note of the developments. He submitted a representation seeking an invitation for AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami to form the next govt.Speaking to reporters after meeting the governor, Dhinakaran alleged that the party’s newly elected MLA, S Kamaraj, had gone missing. He said repeated attempts to contact him had failed.“Our party MLA met me in Puducherry and obtained my signature on the representation seeking an invitation for AIADMK leader Palaniswami to form the next govt. But he has now gone missing and I am unable to reach him over phone,” Dhinakaran said, alleging that TVK could be behind the MLA’s disappearance.Kamaraj, who contested on the AMMK’s cooker symbol, defeated both the DMK and TVK candidates in Mannargudi constituency.Dhinakaran launched a sharp attack on Vijay for attempting to rope in DMK allies to form the govt after portraying the DMK as an “evil force” during the campaign. “Even before forming the govt, he is indulging in such activities. How will he provide a clean govt?” he asked.
