HYDERABAD: A brutal murder in Secunderabad’s Chilakalguda triggered high tension on Friday after a 23-year-old BTech student was chased and stabbed to death in an attack allegedly linked to a long-running relationship. The killing sparked protests by the victim’s family members and relatives, who demanded immediate arrest and strict punishment for the attackers. The victim, identified as Yavan, a resident of Jawahar Nagar and a third-year BTech student, was reportedly in a relationship with a young woman from Sitaphalmandi for the past four years. According to police, the woman’s family had earlier objected to the relationship and allegedly warned him against meeting her. Yavan collapsed in a pool of blood and was rushed to Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The killing led to dramatic scenes on Friday morning as Yavan’s parents, relatives and his friends gathered outside the young woman’s residence in Sitaphalmandi. Accusing her family members of orchestrating the murder, they staged a protest and demanded that the accused be handed over to them, prompting police intervention.Heavy police deployment was made in the area to prevent further escalation.
