CHENNAI: As Vijay’s TVK has reached out to minor partners in DMK-headed alliance for support to form a govt in Tamil Nadu, VCK is in no hurry to grab TVK’s offer of a Cabinet berth without internal deliberations and Left parties’ advice. Senior VCK functionaries confirmed TVK reiterated its promise of “a share in power and governance”. VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan summoned general secretaries D Ravi Kumar and Sinthanai Selvan to discuss TVK’s proposal. “We cannot take a decision based only on a ‘share in govt and power’,” he said. Selvan said, “The party will take the call on Thursday.” It later postponed the meeting to Friday due to a statewide protest by VCK, CPI, and CPMover the LPG price hike. The party said the VCK chief decided to meet with long-time partners —CPM and CPI — before taking a call.
