India and overseas breakdown of ‘Patriot’ collections
According to Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 24.85 crore in India net so far. Its India gross stands at Rs 28.83 crore. The overseas market has contributed Rs 41.50 crore. This has helped the film cross the Rs 70 crore globally.Domestic numbers remain underwhelming, despite the overseas push. The gap between expectations and actual performance is becoming more visible with each passing day.
Sharp drop after weekend for ‘Patriot’
The film recorded Rs 5.50 crore on Day 3, which was its first Sunday. It had 2,229 shows and a solid 42.0% occupancy. However, the numbers dropped sharply on Monday. Day 4 collections stood at Rs 1.70 crore with 1,781 shows and 19.0% occupancy. The downward trend continued on Day 5. The film earned Rs 1.50 crore from 1,826 shows. Occupancy fell further to 17.0%. The total India net collection remains Rs 24.85 crore, showing limited growth after the weekend.‘Patriot’ follows a gripping storyline centered on covert operatives. The character and the background further pack a punch, and Mahesh makes it clear that he can present Mohanlal as “mass” in any genre. The action sequences are charged, and the confrontations, background music by Sushin Shyam, and smooth dialogues lift the film at key moments. It definitely has several high points. Manush Nandan’s cinematography deserves to be lauded, complementing the film’s visuals effectively.Fahadh Faasil is in his element as Shakthi Sundaram. Kunchacko Boban is great as Michael Devassy. These characters are all intertwined; there are mutual sentiments, and at the same time, many calculations that stand above everything.
