Candidates should be free from flat feet, knock knees, pigeon chest or other physical deformities.Educational qualification and weightage systemMinimum qualification is SSC pass. Merit calculation is based on multiple weightage components. SSC marks are converted to a maximum of 100. HSC adds 25 marks. Engineering diploma or degree provides 40 to 50 marks depending on branch preference in mechanical, automobile or electrical streams. Fire related courses such as ITI Fireman, Fire Technology diploma or Fire Engineering degree carry 25 to 100 marks. NCC certificates carry 10 marks for A, 15 for B and 25 for C. Basic computer knowledge such as CCC provides 10 marks.Selection process and application procedureSelection includes physical efficiency test covering long jump, high jump, running and swimming events with performance-based scoring. Final merit is prepared by combining PET scores with educational weightage. Shortlisted candidates undergo medical examination for vision and physical standards.
