Sunil Gavaskar and Kailash Satyarthi highlight quality and ethics at IMC award event

PUNE: The Suryadatta Education Foundation’s Suryadatta Institute of Management and Mass Communication (SIMMC) has been honoured with the prestigious IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) for excellence in education. The institute received a ‘Commendation Certificate’ in recognition of its academic quality, continuous improvement, and best management practices. The award ceremony was recently held at the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Churchgate, Mumbai. Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, along with organisations such as Jindal Stainless Steel, Hissar, and GMR Warora Engineering Limited, were also honoured at the event.Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar presented the award. It was received by Suryadatta Founder President & Chairman Dr Sanjay B Chordiya, vice-president and secretary Sushama S. Chordiya, Associate Vice-President Snehal Navalakha, and HoD Dr Manisha Kumbhar. IMC president Sunita Ramnathkar, RBNQA Trust chairman Niraj Bajaj, along with dignitaries including Dr Medha Deshmukh, Dr Vivek Swami, Dr Sheetal Bhusare, and Prof Smita Chavan, were present. The national-level recognition is expected to further strengthen the institute’s journey in delivering quality education.Speaking on the occasion, Gavaskar emphasised that discipline, teamwork, and consistency are essential for success. Drawing parallels between sports and institutional excellence, he said sustained efforts are necessary to achieve quality benchmarks. He added that students should be encouraged to imbibe these values from an early age and actively participate in sports for overall physical and mental well-being.Satyarthi, in his address, said quality is not limited to processes but must also include values, ethics, and social responsibility. He urged educational institutions to focus on nurturing globally responsible citizens. The Suryadatta Group felicitated both Gavaskar and Satyarthi and invited them to visit the campus.
