‘The Fear of 13’: Tessa Thompson praises Adrien Brody, says, ‘He's a tremendous actor; he's deeply kind'

‘Men in Black’ actress Tessa Thompson and Adrien Brody recently made their debut in the theater in their latest Broadway show. During their debut, Thompson talked about what it was like to work alongside the Brutalist actor on stage, and the actress had nothing but good things to say about her co-star.

Tessa Thompson talks about Adrien Brody during their Broadway debutEarlier this month, Thompson and Brody opened their debut play, ‘The Fear of 13’ at the James Earl Jones Theatre in New York City. During their debut, as reported by PEOPLE, Thompson gushed on about how great of a person and actor her co-star, Adrien Brody, was.When asked about how the overall experience was while working with the actor, she shared, “It’s great. I adore him. He’s wonderful in this play. He’s a tremendous actor; he’s deeply kind.” Moreover, she added that while working with him, she felt as if she had known him as a person for a very long time. She added, “I feel like I’ve known him—maybe it’s just you rehearse so much, and you get so close—but it feels like I’ve known him for ages at this point. But it feels like it’s kind of only the beginning for us, which I’m grateful for.”The writer of the play, Lindsey Ferrentino, also opened up about how much she wanted Brody to be a part of her play. While sharing that she pushed the play on the ‘Splice’ actor, she added that she “can’t say enough good things about what it is like to work with [Brody] and write for him.”

The actors both made their Broadway debut with ‘The Fear of 13,’ a theater play written by none other than Lindsey Ferrentino. She is best known for her work in ‘The Queen of Versailles,’ ‘This Flat Earth,’ and ‘Ugly Lies the Bone.’The play is based on a documentary about Nick Yarris, a man who was incarcerated on death row for 22 years on wrongful terms. The Broadway play explores his life and how he ended up incarcerated, awaiting death row, while also growing as a person while staying behind bars for more than 20 years.
