Not everyone in life is fortunate enough to feel the tender hands of a grandparent, let alone a great grandparent. But 4-month-old Mivaan has been gifted with something truly rare and special. In a heartwarming exchange, which feels almost magical, the little baby is seen sharing a tender moment with his 104-year-old great-grandmother. The video is now touching millions online, with many calling it “circle of life.”The video shared on Mivaan Taunk’s Instagram page (@momo_taunk), captures the beautiful moment, where the child’s great grandma is seen sitting on the bed, as she gently pats the child with a priceless smile on her face. It feels as if she has been waiting to experience this moment all her life. The interaction feels deeply moving, as if it’s a meeting of two worlds. On one side is a life that has just begun, while on the other is life that has been here, not for just decades, but for a whole century. The great-grandmother gently caresses the child’s head. No words were exchanged between the two. One is too fragile to speak, whereas the other hasn’t learned how to. What stays constant is the 104-year-old’s smile and the 4-month-old’s excitement. The baby is making all sorts of cute noises and appears to be trying hard to communicate, as if trying to ‘update’ his great grand mom about so many things. The playfully written text on the clip says, “When 104 years old and 4 months old catch up about their day.” Everyone who encountered the video could feel the warmth. Users rushed to the comment section, expressing their awe. One user wrote, “Two pure souls connect with each other,” while some called the child fortunate. The video is so moving that many defined it with a deeper message. A person wrote, “He was like her some time back. She will be like him in some time. Circle of life.” another wrote, “In dono k beech ke faasle ko zindagi kehte hai.”

Why grandparents are so important in the lives of children

The living storytellers of the family, or the grandparents, add a layer of warmth and unconditional love in a child’s life. Where parents try to balance responsibilities and discipline, the elderly simply celebrate the time with their grandchildren. A grandparent’s affection teaches children how to give and receive love in a gentle, nurturing way. Their experience of lifetimes helps the child learn so much about the real-world.At the same time, children bring immense joy in grandparents’ lives, the way we saw Mivaan bringing a sense of joy in the life of the 104-year-old great granny. This is why, as parents we must ensure that our children interact with their grandparents, inside or even outside of the family.
