‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ continues its decent theatrical run in its second week. The Adivi Sesh starrer has crossed significant milestones at the domestic and global box office. Directed by Shaneil Deo in his debut, the action romantic drama is doing a decent box office business.

According to Sacnilk website data, ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ has recorded a worldwide total of Rs 52.59 Cr so far. Its India gross stands at Rs 39.09 Cr while the India net collection has reached Rs 33.96 Cr. Overseas markets have contributed Rs 13.50 Cr to the overall tally.Day 11 saw the movie collect Rs 48 lakhs and this was followed by Rs 50 lakhs on Day 12 and another Rs 50 lakhs on Day 13. On Day 14, earnings dipped to Rs 34 lakhs.
Critical feedback on heist sequences in ‘Dacoit’
Audiences and reviewers have pointed out certain plot elements. Some felt the protagonist carried out multiple heists without facing major challenges.In an interview with, Adivi Sesh responded directly to the feedback. “I tried to make it realistic to the time of COVID. I’m always willing to take criticism. Even I say in the film that a robbery happened very easily. I am capable of writing a complex episode for the heist. Had I gone for the mind-game aspect, there would have been tonal confusion since Dacoit is a love story. We always wanted to make it as an emotion-backed love story,” said Adivi Sesh as quoted by 123 Telugu website.The actor further explained his creative choices. “We tried preparing the audience that it’s not a mind-game film. In some ways, to a certain degree, I am a victim of my image.
