Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ BTS documentary to release as a full feature film in theatres by late 2026 - Reports
Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar duo has crushed box office records, with the sequel hitting ₹1,100cr domestically. Now, its full-length making-of BTS film—featuring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, and more—eyes a Q4 2026 theatrical debut, a first for Indian cinema. No leaks yet; Aditya’s photo-only posts hint at the plan.

Following the unprecedented box office devastation caused by Aditya Dhar’s spy-thriller duology, the makers of ‘Dhurandhar’ (2025) and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (2026) are set to create history once more. In a first-of-its-kind move for the Indian film industry, a full-length making-of documentary is reportedly being prepared for a grand theatrical release. As of April 21, 2026, the sequel is still dominating theaters, having recently crossed the monumental Rs. 1,100 crore net milestone at the domestic box office.

Making-of plans for ‘Dhurandhar’ theatrical release

According to Hindustan Times, the makers have decided to turn even the film’s making into a spectacle. All the BTS footage and cast interviews will be collated into a full-length feature film, unveiled as a theatrical release in the last quarter of 2026, and then eventually stream on the OTT platform. All the major players in the film including actors Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, and director Aditya Dhar, are not doing any media interactions yet because their first interviews will be part of this BTS film that will directly arrive in theatres. It is a first for any Indian film, and the makers are ensuring that no BTS footage goes out on social media before the release of the film.

Aditya Dhar’s post on social media

For some time, Aditya has been thanking his crew via social media posts, but he’s stuck to photos only, with no videos in sight. It seems like a clue that the movie’s video clips are being reserved for the big-screen debut of its behind-the-scenes feature.

‘Dhurandhar’ box office success

Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’, boasting stars like Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Danish Pandor, dominated as India’s top domestic grosser, raking in over Rs 800 crores. The follow-up, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, raised the bar as the first Indian film to hit Rs 1000 crores purely from domestic collections.
