SA Chandrasekhar REACTS to son Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' controversy; says ‘We expected these problems’

The journey of ‘Jana Nayagan,’ starring Thalapathy Vijay, has been filled with challenges right from the start. The film was delayed in obtaining its censor certificate and fell prey to a huge piracy leak later. All these things have delayed the release and with Tamil Nadu elections too, the film has faced huge delays. Amid these developments, veteran filmmaker and Vijay‘s father S.A. Chandrasekhar spoke about this and here is what he said.

SA Chandrasekhar says Vijay expected the challenges

In a recent interaction with Behindwoods, S. A. Chandrasekhar revealed that Vijay was fully aware of the hurdles the film might face. He said, “Don’t say you didn’t expect the problems. When Vijay signed the film, he told the producer… ‘You are making a film when I am heading to politics. I hope you are aware of the hurdles the film would face.’” He added that none of the current issues came as a surprise. “He knew it would face hurdles. That is why he said the same. It was well expected. We are not shocked,” he explained. His statement shows that the team had anticipated possible challenges even before the film began.

S. A. Chandrasekhar’s take on the piracy leak

Speaking about the piracy issue, S. A. Chandrasekhar strongly condemned the act and shared his concern. He said, “Criminal minds first attack the heart and then go break the financial route.” He also addressed speculation about political involvement, calling it natural for people to think that way but not confirming anything. According to him, the situation should not be overanalysed without proof.

Delays, arrests and uncertainty surround ‘Jana Nayagan’ release

Directed by H. Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’, also stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain in important roles, is yet to have its release as it was initially planned for Pongal, and the statement given is of a grand curtain raiser. Following the leak, police arrested certain people, including a freelance editor who apparently had gotten into the footage. The film continues to be in the trend as audiences are eagerly waiting for its release dare.
