CMAT 2026 exam tomorrow: Check important instructions, dos and don'ts here

Common Management Admission Test-2026 is scheduled on January 25 when thousands of aspiring students of the country would compete in one of the prominent entrance tests to different management courses. The CMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency, a gateway for admission to more than 1,000 AICTE-approved management institutes across the country. In view of the massive number of candidates expected to appear, the agency has issued detailed guidelines to ensure a smooth and hassle-free examination experience. Candidates are advised to carefully go through all guidelines related to the examination, reporting procedure, and essential dos and don’ts for the examination to avoid last-minute confusion or delay.

CMAT 2026 exam mode and structure

The mode of examination for CMAT 2026 will be computer-based. The entire question paper will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions divided into five important areas. Those areas are Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded; on the other hand, 1 mark will be deducted as a penalty for a wrong answer. Finally, 3 hours in total are allotted for the entire examination. It has to be remembered that time has to be strictly handled across all sections.

Important documents to carry

Candidates must carry the following documents to the exam centre:

  • CMAT 2026 Admit Card
  • Valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID, or driving license)
  • Passport-size photograph (recommended)

It is important to note that entry will be denied without these documents, and candidates should double-check the details on their admit card to ensure accuracy before reaching the centre.

Dos and don’ts for candidates

Following the NTA’s guidelines will help ensure a smooth exam day:Dos:

  • Arrive at the exam centre well before the reporting time to complete verification and security checks without stress.
  • Carry only essential items, including the admit card, ID proof, and basic stationery like pens and pencils.
  • Carefully follow all instructions provided by exam invigilators and staff.
  • Stay calm and focused during the examination to perform effectively.

Don’ts:

  • Do not bring mobile phones, electronic gadgets, calculators, or study materials inside the exam hall.
  • Avoid any form of malpractice; strict action will be taken against candidates found violating rules.
  • Do not rush or panic; manage time efficiently across all sections.

Candidates are advised to plan their travel in advance, check the location of their exam centre, and follow all NTA instructions to ensure a smooth examination experience.
