Although the post stated the month, it failed to mention the date, shift, and examination centres, but instead said the typing test will fall within the second week of February 2026.All candidates are hereby informed that they should regularly visit the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board regarding further instructions about the computer typing test schedule, downloading of admit cards, and other reporting instructions.Overview of Recruitment and Application TimelineThe recruitment drive will fill up 537 posts in three categories. These are 112 vacancies for Sub-Inspector (Confidential), 311 for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk), and 114 for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts). The recruitment notification was released on December 20, 2026, and the online application process began on the same day.The deadline for submitting the online application form and paying the examination fee was January 19, 2026. A correction window was provided from January 20 to January 22, 2026. The board has stated that admit cards will be issued before the examination, while the written examination and result dates will be announced separately.Eligibility criteria and typing standardsFor the Sub-Inspector (Confidential) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk) posts, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution and possess an O Level qualification. Typing requirements include 35 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi. The Sub-Inspector (Confidential) post also requires Hindi stenography at 80 words per minute.Applicants for the Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts) post must have a Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent, along with an O Level qualification and a Hindi typing speed of 15 words per minute. The prescribed age limit for applicants ranges from 21 to 28 years.Fee for application and pay scale“The application fee for General, OBC, EWS category applicants would be Rs 500. On the other hand, SC/ST category applicants would be required to pay Rs 400 as the application fee. The payment options would be through Credit Card, Debit Card, online net banking, as well as Offline E-ChThe pay scale for Sub-Inspector (confidential) posts varies in Level 6 between Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800 monthly, along with grade pay that amounts to Rs 4,200. The pay scale for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk & Accounts) is categorized in Level 5, with the scale varying between Rs 5,200 to Rs 20,200 along with grade pay that amounts to Rs 2,800, along with applicable allowances as per the rules of the government.
