Vignesh Shivan gets emotional at 'LIK' event: 'We have invested almost everything we had to make this film'
Following the successful reception of ‘Love Insurance Kompany’, director Vignesh Shivan appealed for positive focus from influencers and audiences, sharing the immense effort invested. A playful, emotional exchange between Shivan and lead Pradeep Ranganathan highlighted the thanksgiving event, where Ranganathan also expressed gratitude for the team’s dedication amidst the film’s challenging journey to release.

The team of ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ (‘LIK’) recently held a thanksgiving event after the film received a warm response from audiences. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film features Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. Actors like S. J. Suryah and Seeman also play key roles in the film. With music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the movie hit theatres on April 10 and has been performing well at the box office. During the event, the emotional and humorous interaction between Vignesh Shivan and Pradeep Ranganathan became the highlight of the evening.

Vignesh Shivan makes emotional appeal for support at event

During his speech, Vignesh Shivan spoke openly about the effort and money invested in making the film. He requested social media influencers and audiences to focus on the positive aspects of the movie instead of criticising it. He said, “We have invested almost everything we had to make this film. I request influencers not to attack the film but to talk about the good things in it.” Using a humorous comparison, he added, “If I cook kesari, people ask why it is not spicy; if I cook chicken curry, they ask why it is not sweet. Sometimes people question everything.” His honest and emotional words connected with many in the audience.

The director also expressed his wish for ‘LIK’ to reach the 100 crore milestone. Speaking about the lead actor, he said he hoped to put up a “Rs 100 crore success poster” for Pradeep Ranganathan once again. At one point, Vignesh Shivan jokingly pretended to cry on stage and said, “If needed, I will cry here itself so people can use it for thumbnails.” His humorous act made the entire audience laugh. Pradeep Ranganathan joined the fun, joking around by pretending to cry, which created a great moment with the director. The audience loved it and cheered loudly.

Pradeep Ranganathan thanks team after long journey of ‘LIK’

Later, Pradeep Ranganathan spoke about the long journey behind ‘LIK’. He revealed that the project was first discussed in early 2023 and faced several delays before release. He said, “Normally when a film gets delayed so many times, the hype and confidence reduce. Even I was worried about how the opening would be.” However, he expressed happiness about the audience’s response. “The opening we received was a big surprise. I did not expect this much love from people,” he added. The actor also thanked cinematographer Ravi Varman, editor Pradeep E. Raghav, and composer Anirudh Ravichander, saying their work made the film stronger. He concluded by thanking the media and fans for their constant support.
