After his journey in Bigg Boss 19, Amaal Mallik feels many things have changed. He came out of the show as the fourth runner-up and won many hearts.People saw a new side of him on television. Now, after the show, Amaal says he is getting many offers to act, especially to play villain roles. Most of these offers are coming from South films. He says he is thankful for the love and interest, but he also has one wish. If he acts in a film, he wants to also take care of the music and background score.
Villain role offers are coming in
Amaal spoke about this in a recent interview with Mashable Middle East. He shared how casting teams are reaching out to him. He said, “Right now, I’m getting a lot of offers to play villain roles. People are telling me, ‘Why don’t you become the villain in a South movie?’. So I’m saying if I am doing a movie, agar wo central character hai, then I would also like to do the score. Because I am really good at BGM.”
More than just a song composer
Amaal feels people only see one side of his work. He says many do not know how much he has done behind the scenes. He explained this clearly. “People know me only for songs, but I have done 47 films with the biggest composers and scored for them. Hero ki entry, villain ki entry, main sab bana sakta hu.” He added that he wants to keep one clear condition. “So ek condition rakhne ki koshish hogi ki jahaan main face rahunga, waha ka music and score bhi main karunga.” (“So I will try to keep one condition: that wherever I appear on screen, I will also handle the music and background score for that part. ”)He wants people to know that he understands cinema music deeply. He knows how to lift scenes and moments using sound.
Inspired by filmmaker-composers and wanting his own identity
Amaal also spoke about his inspiration. He mentioned how some filmmakers handle many roles with ease.Amaal talked about Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He said they direct films and also compose music. He feels he can do the same and believes he can act and also create music for the story he is part of.Earlier, he also spoke about why he joined Bigg Boss. Talking to the Hindustan Times, the composer said, “I didn’t just say yes. I said YES.” He felt people knew his music but not him as a person.“People know my music. They know my heart. But they don’t know me—not my habits, my vibe, or what I think.”He also shared a funny but honest truth. Many people confuse him with his brother or other actors. “I want people to know this is Amaal Mallik, not Armaan Malik,” Amaal concluded.
