Strength in stride: Women redefining power at the Times Internet Half Marathon

Women have long been associated with grace, softness and compassion. But beyond these qualities lies a force often underestimated, one of passion, resilience and unwavering determination. The Times Internet Half Marathon not only celebrates fitness but also creates a platform where such powerful stories come to life, where every stride reflects a journey, and every finish line tells a story. In this spirit, the Under-29 women’s category of the 21K race stood as a testament to breaking stereotypes. These young runners proved that they are not just graceful and composed, but equally tough, disciplined and relentless.Leading the category was 18-year-old Chandini, who clocked an impressive 1:35:52. Her running journey began just three years ago in school, where her talent was recognised early. Encouraged by her teacher to train at a stadium, she discovered her love for the sport. Today, she aspires to compete in international 5K and 10K races and dreams of setting records. She also praised the Times Internet Half Marathon for its seamless organisation, calling it a truly motivating experience for young athletes like her.

Second runner-up, 23-year-old Manisha Panwar, matched the timing at 1:47:02. Running for the past six years, she began her journey as a swimmer before a severe eye infection forced her to pause. Yet, she chose not to stop. Turning to running, she found a new path. With aspirations to join the defence services, she embraces the sport for the challenge it brings her true driving force. For her, the Times Internet Half Marathon was more than a race; it was an experience that tested and strengthened her resolve.

We believe the Times Internet Half Marathon is more than a race; it is a reflection of the human spirit, where every step carries a story of courage, every mile tests belief, and every finish line transforms the runner within. Because here, women are not just participating. They are leading, pushing limits, and redefining strength with every step.
