Record pass percentage in AP Inter results; Girls outshine boys

Vijayawada: The Intermediate Public Examination results in Andhra Pradesh were officially released on Wednesday, bringing cheer to thousands of students across the state. Announcing the results, Education Minister Nara Lokesh stated that a record pass percentage has been achieved this year, reflecting improved academic performance.According to the minister, 77 percent of students passed in the first-year Intermediate examinations, while the pass percentage in the second year stood at an impressive 81 percent. He expressed particular satisfaction over the performance of government junior colleges, where 54 percent of students cleared the first year and 68 percent succeeded in the second year.Highlighting gender-wise performance, girls once again outperformed boys in both categories. In the first-year exams, a total of 4,21,984 students appeared, of whom 3,61,526 successfully passed. Similarly, in the second year, 4,44,657 students took the exams, and 3,59,816 cleared them, maintaining the strong overall success rate.Encouraging students, Lokesh congratulated all those who passed and offered words of support to those who did not succeed. He urged them not to lose hope and to treat this setback as a stepping stone toward future success. He also appealed to parents, educational institutions, and society to extend support to such students during challenging times.The Intermediate examinations were conducted from February 28 to March 2. Students seeking re-verification and recounting can apply between April 20 and 27. Practical examinations for supplementary candidates will be held from May 7 to 11 at district headquarters, while advanced supplementary exams are scheduled from May 21 onwards.District-wise, Krishna district emerged as the top performer in both first and second-year results, while Annamayya district recorded the lowest pass percentage.
