BRO GREF recruitment 2026: A new recruitment notification has been put forward by the Border Roads Organisation for recruiting 899 vacancies within the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF). This recruitment notification has been released via Advertisement No. 01/2026 and is looking to fill positions for Indian citizens in various posts and trades.Vacancies announced under Employment Newspaper issue April 18–24, 2026, have a planned start date in April 2026 that will continue till May 2026. Candidates interested in applying should log on to the official website of BPO, bro.gov.in, to apply.Distribution of vacancies by postThere are six different posts that need filling, categorized according to vacancies. The maximum vacancies have been seen in the post of Store Keeper Technical (SKT) with 300 posts. This is followed by the post of Operator Communication with 261 posts and Operator Excavating Machinery (OEM) with 207 posts.There are 42 vacancies for Draughtsman and 10 vacancies for Hindi Typist. There are 79 vacancies for Electrician posts. The classification-wise distribution is 466 General vacancies, 120 SC vacancies, 67 ST vacancies, 228 OBC vacancies, and 18 EWS vacancies, making the total vacancies 899.
Details about reservation for ESM & PwBDThe notification also contains information regarding the reservation of vacancies for ex-servicemen (ESM) and benchmarked disabled people (PwBD). Store Keeper Technical comprises 45 vacancies for ESM & 12 for PwBD. For Operator Communication, there is reservation of 39 vacancies for ESM and for Operator Excavating Machinery, there is reservation for 31 such vacancies.Draughtsman has 6 vacancies for ESM & 3 vacancies for PwBD. For Electrician, there is a reservation of 12 vacancies for ESM, while Hindi Typist has a reservation of 1 vacancy for ESM.Process of applying for the positionCandidates are requested to apply in accordance with the given procedure. This involves verifying their eligibility criteria, filling up the application form, uploading required documents and paying the application fee. Candidates should take a printout of their application form for future reference.The deadline for submitting applications would be declared on the official site. Examination dates would be separately notified. Details relating to pay and allowances, D.A., H.R.A. etc., would be paid as per guidelines of Govt. of India.
