Jennifer Lopez is taking a thrilling trip back to her ‘Maid in Manhattan’ roots with her upcoming R-rated romantic comedy, ‘Office Romance,’ where she stars alongside Brett Goldstein. Taking to social media, Lopez teased fans with hints of a more audacious, grown-up twist on the rom-com formula, invoking the playful spirit of films like ‘Knocked Up.

It’s been 20 years since Jennifer Lopez starred in the classic rom-com ‘Maid in Manhattan.’ Now the 56-year-old is looking back at those days as she prepares for her new rom-com, ‘Office Romance’, alongside Brett Goldstein. The actress recalled the memories through a post on social media and has now got fans excited for her next rom-com.

Jennifer Lopez shows excitement for ‘Office Romance’

Taking to her Instagram, the actress wrote, “Some never before seen BTS on the set of ‘Maid in Manhattan’,” alongside some snaps of her with co-star Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and the late Bob Hoskins and Natasha Richardson. “So many feelings! Such wonderful memories!” continued her caption. “And now with Office Romance, I am back in my RomCom era. It’s OUR Happy Era!!!”

Jennifer Lopez hints the film will be R-rated

Last October, Lopez teased the film to Andy Cohen on ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ She said at the time, “It’s not the typical JLo rom-com that you are used to, like the sweet wholesomeness.” Calling the film a “little raunchy,” Lopez said, “it’s like the jokes are little, think more like Knocked Up… (There’s) Something About Mary,” as she referenced the hit R-rated comedies.

‘Office Romance’ is expected to be released this summer

Directed by Ol Parker, ‘Office Romance’ is coming to Netflix this summer. The rom-com stars Lopez and Brett Goldstein as her onscreen love interest, plus Betty Gilpin, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, and Edward James Olmos. The film was written by Joe Kelly and Goldstein.Lopez starred in Kiss of the Spider-Woman last year and had an uncredited cameo in Anaconda. She also stars in the upcoming The Last Mrs. Parrish.
