Nandamuri Balakrishna to team up with Vivek Athreya for new film: Report
Nandamuri Balakrishna is set to collaborate with director Vivek Athreya for an exciting gangster drama centered in Mumbai. This role was originally pitched to the legendary Rajinikanth but has now found a perfect fit in Balakrishna. As he gears up for this new challenge, he’s simultaneously pouring his energy into ‘NBK 111’, directed by Gopichand Malineni.

Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna was last seen in the mythological action drama sequel, ‘Akhanda 2’. If the latest reports are to be believed, he is set to return on the big screen under the direction of young filmmaker Vivek Athreya. This film is said to be a gangster drama in Mumbai.

Balakrishna to work with Vivek Athreya

As per a report by Moneycontrol, Nandamuri Balakrishna will be working with Vivek Athreya, who is known for the Nani starrer ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’, crime comedy film, ‘Ante Sundaraniki’, ‘Brochevarevarura’, which became a big hit and more. This project also has an interesting story behind it. The script was first narrated to Rajinikanth. After finishing his film Coolie, he decided not to do another gangster film now. So the story did not move forward with him. Later, the script reached Balakrishna. He liked the idea and said yes to the film. Now the project is confirmed and shooting will start soon.

Balakrishna’s upcoming project

Speaking of his current work front, Balakrishna is working on another movie tentatively called ‘NBK 111’. This film is directed by Gopichand Malineni. Shooting is going on in Hyderabad. Samuthirakani is playing an important role. He said working in this film is a great chance for him. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas. There are also reports that Nayanthara may be the female lead. Music is by Thaman S.

About ‘Akhanda 2’

Talking about ‘Akhanda 2’, the film shows the leading actor in a larger-than-life action-fantasy style like the first film. He is seen fighting powerful enemies. The movie got mixed-to-positive reception, with some fans and audience praising Balakrishna’s screen presence and the mass action set-pieces.The film’s total gross collection stands at Rs 123.80 crore according to Sacnilk.
