HYDERABAD: A flying instructor in Hyderabad has been accused of raping a female student and subjecting her to emotional manipulation, according to a police complaint. According to news agency ANI, the 30-year-old instructor, who teaches at an Institute of Pilot Training, was booked following a complaint lodged at Begumpet police station. The woman alleged that the accused gained her trust by presenting himself as a “brotherly” figure while she attended study sessions at his residence in Brahmanwadi. According to the complaint, the alleged assault took place on 27 December 2025. The woman said the instructor persuaded her to stay back at his paying guest accommodation, citing personal distress, before forcibly having sexual intercourse with her. She also alleged that he threatened her and her family with consequences if she disclosed the incident. In her statement, the complainant described the episode as “rape, emotional manipulation, criminal intimidation, and abuse of trust and authority by a person in the position of a teacher and brother figure.” She further alleged that the accused continued to intimidate her after the incident, forcing her to stop attending study sessions by 1 March 2026. Police said a case has been registered under sections 64(2)(f) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint also noted that the woman had joined the institute in January 2025 and had studied under another instructor, whom she regarded as a father figure. She alleged that the accused’s threats continued even after he moved to Dammaiguda, where she had been attending classes. Officials said the investigation is ongoing. They added that statements, digital evidence and other corroborative material are being collected to determine further legal action.
