UP Lekhpal registrations underway for 7994 posts: Check direct link to apply and other details here

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) opened the registration window for Lekhpal Recruitment 2026 on December 29, 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill 7,994 Lekhpal posts, and applications are now underway on the official UPSSSC website. The selection process garnered huge attention since the commission announced the revised list of vacancies according to categories. Furthermore, the commission revised the list of vacancies due to the cancellation of the selection norms for the OBC.Subsequently, under these issues, the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, reviewed the case and instructed the commission to abide by the proper reservation policy. In response to the above order, the UPSSSC revised its distribution of vacancies and published the list accordingly.

UPSSC recruitment 2026: Category-wise vacancy list

As per the revised notification, the number of vacancies in the category of OBC has been significantly increased. At the same time, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe vacancies are also increased, while General category vacancies are reduced.The breakdown will be as follows:

Application schedule, fee, and age limit

According to the official notification, the online application process began on December 29, 2025, and candidates can apply till January 28, 2026. The fee payment deadline is also January 28, 2026. The correction window for making changes in the application form will remain open until February 4, 2026.The application fee is Rs 25 for all categories, including General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on July 1, 2025.

Eligibility criteria and selection process

To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. In addition, it is mandatory to have qualified the UPSSSC PET 2025.The selection process includes:Shortlisting based on PET scores

  • Medical examination
  • Salary Details

Candidates selected for the Lekhpal post will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100, along with allowances as per state government norms.
