The famed actor was born on July 13, 1940, and has been an active part of the entertainment industry since 1959. The actor had a hard upbringing as a child, and was born in a poor household in Mirfield, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. During his schooling years, he left and started focusing on acting full time. At the age of 15, to fend for himself and earn a living, he was hired by a local newspaper, for which he regularly used to write news pieces as a reporter and obituaries as well. He actively worked in theatre plays and started his career in entertainment from there. He then transitioned into TV work, and starred in a lot of shows including ‘Fall of Eagles’, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’, and ‘Smiley’s People’ to name a few. As for films, after doing some small roles, he started leading many projects, including names like ‘Dune’, ‘The Pagemaster’, ‘Let It Be Me’, and the ‘Star Trek’ franchise, which was one of his biggest hits. Later on, he was also cast as Dr Charles Xavier in the ‘X-Men’ franchise, which was another one of his major hits. He reprised his role over various installment of the films, often either as one of the lead actors, or as a simple cameo. On the work front, he is all set and ready to reprise his role as Charles in the upmong film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ which is slated for release in December 2026. He also plays the voice of one of the characters on ‘The Sheep Detectives’, which will be released on May 8.
