Zendaya isn’t the one who trades her private life’s details for claps and cheers, but ‘The Drama’ star recently dropped a pretty surprising story about her mom, Claire Stoermer, who is 62 now. In all truth, the revelation is kind of adorable and gives away the dynamic she shares with her mom. Turns out, Zendaya convinced her mom to get her first tattoo at 50, and now Claire’s totally obsessed with inkings.
Zendaya’s tattoo revelation: What happened?
Zendaya shared this on The Jennifer Hudson Show, and quite proudly so. ‘The Drama’s Emma shared that she actually drew the first tattoo for her mom, and now Claire’s hooked.
In her own words, “I convinced her to get her first tattoo at 50 years old.” Zendaya, in fact, “drew it for her and since then she calls me, like randomly, and she’ll be getting a new tattoo.”The Emmy-winning ‘Euphoria’ star shared that her mother is now obsessed with tattoos. “She calls me randomly and she’ll be getting a new tattoo,” Zendaya laughed.Apparently, her mom’s not stopping at just one. Zendaya even joked that Claire’s basically “a walking piece of art” at this point.It’s quite intriguing how Claire went from never having a tattoo to just going for it, and now she sees her body as a canvas. And all because her daughter nudged her in that direction. That’s the selling point of the story that hooked the fans.For the unversed, Zendaya’s mom, Claire, had always been there for her daughter. Per People, she’s a teacher, and she’s been a steady anchor and force in her daughter’s life: taking Zendaya to theater auditions, cheering her on when Hollywood came calling, just being that rock. However, now, there’s this role reversal. Zendaya’s the one encouraging her mom to step out of her comfort zone, and Claire’s all in.
What about Zendaya’s tattoos?
Now, as for Zendaya herself, she’s got a tattoo too. It’s a tiny “T” in lower case near her ribcage. This tattoo is a nod to her fiancé (or husband, maybe?), Tom Holland. She showed it off at the 2025 Golden Globes, the same night she announced their engagement. Zendaya’s sweet “t”ribute to her man was on display during ‘The Drama’ premiere as well. However, it’s interesting to note how Zendaya goes for small, meaningful ink: nothing too flashy, but poignant. Unlike her mom, her approach to tattoos is to have just the significant bits on her skin.On the work front, Zendaya’s ‘The Drama’, with Robert Pattinson as her co-star, has just been released in the theatres. However, she’s not nearly done for the year. Next up, she has ‘Euphoria Season 3’, reprising her character Rue. The comes ‘The Odyssey’, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, and ‘Dune: Parth Three’. She’s got two Emmys and, with this slate lined up, is expected to win some more in the coming days.As for her personal life, Zendaya has been seen flaunting a gold band on her ring finger, along with her engagement ring, which looks very much like a wedding band. However, neither Zendaya nor Tom Holland has confirmed whether they have already taken the marriage vows or not.
