Bollywood actor Salman Khan found himself at the centre of a hilarious online debate after his designer footwear caught everyone’s attention. The actor, who has been making the most of his time off the film sets, attending events and making public appearances, left the internet divided over his choice of footwear during his latest appearance. A video circulating on social media shows Khan stepping out of his car at the ariport rocking a checked shirt, statement jeans and distressed footwear. The videos show the cameras zooming into the visibly worn-out footwear, which led many to assume that the actor was sporting ‘phate joote’ (torn shoes). While some trolled the sperstar for the alleged malfunction, others admitted that they “couldn’t make sense of it…!!”

However, fans were quick to counter the criticism, pointing out that the actor was in fact, wearing luxury designer boots. The footwear in question is the Balenciaga Distressed Leather Cowboy Boots, known for their intentionally rugged and distressed aesthetic. The boots reportedly retail between Rs 1.20 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh, prompting fans to defend Khan’s fashion choice. He had previously worn the pair in 2023 while promoting his film ‘Tiger 3’.

Meanwhile, Salman has some time on hand before he heads back to the film sets for his next. The Bollywood superstar is set to commence work on his next untitled action drama backed by producer Dil Raju and directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The project, which also stars Nayanthara as the female lead, alongside Anil Kapoor and Arvind Swamy, will go on floors on April 18 in Mumbai. As per the latest reports, the film currently referred to as ‘SVC63’ will go on floors at a Mumbai studio with Salman shooting an action scene. He is also awaiting the release of the upcoming war drama ‘Maatrubhumi’, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film was initially slated for an April 17.
