Maitreyi College’s Rhapsody fest saw a powerful female lineup, with Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar (SuPra) electrifying day one with their hits. Monali Thakur captivated the audience on day two with her heartfelt melodies and playful banter, expressing her joy at the students’ enthusiastic response

It was women leading the stage at Maitreyi College, with singer duo Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar, aka SuPra, and later Monali Thakur performing at the college’s high-energy two-day fest, Rhapsody.

Sukriti-Prakriti Kakar: Who run the world? Girls!Dressed in blingy outfits, SuPra performed some of their classics like Kar Gayi Chull on day one and introduced their latest songs as well. “I want everyone to turn on their flashlights and I actually wanna see the taare in Maitreyi College,” Sukriti said as the duo sang Taare.“Thank you for screaming every word, for the energy, for the love that felt like a warm spotlight I never wanted to step out of. Can’t wait to be back,” the duo wrote on Instagram as they shared snippets of the performance. Noting their excitement to perform at a girls’ college, the duo chanted “Who run the world? Girls!” between Let’s Nacho beats. Supra transitioned to a slow, unplugged set as they shifted gears for the evening on Wednesday. “Guys this is what we call unplugged!,” Prakriti said as they sang Kalank with the students.

The Sawaar Loon singer expressed her excitement for the evening and said, “This is brilliant energy! You guys are absolutely amazing. I didn’t think it would be so beautiful. Aaj toh bohot maza aane wala hai, kya baat hai!” She said before starting her popular song, “The next song is one to which you guys have given love for so many years. It’s called sawaar loon. It’s incredible how you keep reviving the song.”

A true hopeless romantic, Monali pointed to the moon that shone on the fest. “We’re all back, no matter what we do, how progressive we get, we go back to the whole Laila-Majnu, toota hua dil and all that drama. Which we love, that’s what makes us so exciting and spicy. Itna sab bolne ki yahi vajah thi that the next songs are for us hopeless romantics. So let us sing along and feel the love. Oh the moon is beautiful, look at that!” she said before kicking off Iktara. At the end, she said, “This is gonna be the last song of our performance tonight. Set khatam ho gaya. Mera bas chale main puri raat party karoon (laughs).”
