The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has extended the registration deadline for its Undergraduate Entrance Examination (UGEE) and Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE) 2026. As per the latest update, candidates can now apply till April 5, 2026, offering a final opportunity for aspirants seeking admission to the institute’s UG, PG, and research programmes. The entrance exams are scheduled to be conducted on May 2, 2026, in a computer-based format. Interested candidates are advised to complete the application process at the earliest through the official admission portal to avoid last-minute technical issues.

UGEE, PGEE 2026: Exam date and mode

The IIIT Hyderabad entrance examinations for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be held on May 2, 2026. The test will be conducted in computer-based mode, assessing candidates on conceptual understanding, analytical ability, and subject knowledge depending on the programme applied for.

Programmes offered and eligibility criteria

Through UGEE, IIIT Hyderabad offers dual degree BTech + MS programmes, which are research-oriented and designed for students with strong analytical aptitude. Candidates applying for UGEE must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.For postgraduate admissions through PGEE, the institute offers MTech, MS (by Research), and PhD programmes. Applicants must hold a relevant undergraduate degree such as BTech or BE in the respective discipline.

Selection process and next steps

The UGEE selection process involves a written examination followed by an interview round for shortlisted candidates. The written test typically includes sections such as SUPR (Subject Proficiency) and REAP (Research Aptitude).For PGEE, candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the written test, followed by programme-specific interviews.Admit cards are expected to be released approximately 10 days prior to the exam, while interviews for UGEE-qualified candidates are likely to be conducted in June 2026.
