Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise as been the talk of the town, not just because of its huge box office numbers and the record-breaking spree which the film is on, but fans are now making theories and memes. Both ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’ have been dominating conversations on the internet and surprisingly, it’s not just one actor who has stolen the show. Apart from Ranveer Singh, every cast member got noticed and was showered with love. Clearly then, the film also highlighted the casting process which is often not given attention to. Dhurandhar 2 Movie ReviewIn a recent interview, casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed that it took two years of effort and support from his eight assistants to pull off this task. Be it Ranveer or Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt or Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and even supporting actors like Danish Pandor, every casting was perfect according to the audience. But Chhabra now reveals his most satisfying casting. He told Hindustan Times, “I could say all of them. But Sara Arjun is a new talent. To find a new girl for this role amid such a big star cast was challenging.” He further added that the positive reception to her performance has reinforced their decision: “And then for her to stand out in this manner felt great.”Previously known as a child actor, Sara Arjun had appeared in films like ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, and ‘Saivam’. ‘Dhurandhar’ marked her first outing as a leading lady, where she portrayed Yalina. Mukesh also highlighted how casting actors against type proved to be particularly rewarding. “The surprise casting of Gaurav Gera and Rakesh Bedi was also satisfying,” he shared. While Gaurav Gera stepped into the role of Aalam, an Indian spy operating a milk soda shop in Karachi, Rakesh Bedi portrayed the cunning Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali in both installments—performances that drew widespread appreciation.Listing more standout choices, Mukesh said, “I liked the actors we got for Uzair Baloch (Danish Pandor) and Babu Dakait (Asif Ali Haider Khan). Then, the casting of Nawaz Sharif and Atiq Ahmed was widely discussed. So there were a lot of castings that gave me joy in this film. Every single person we cast in this film was perfect.”
