The teaser for director Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana‘, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has reportedly been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of its scheduled release on April 2. With still two days to go before the long-awaited clip titled ‘Rama’ plays out on our screens, a screenshot of the certificate featuring the rating and runtime, was released online. Interestingly, fans can expect a trailer-length clip dropping on Thursday.
‘Ramaya’ teaser gets CBFC certificate
According to reports on News18, the teaser titled ‘Rama’ has a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds, with a ‘U’ (universal) rating, indicating that fans across age groups will be able to watch the epic. The certification was granted on March 30, coing in time for its official unveiling later this week.
Watch: ‘Ramayana: The Introduction’
So far, the makers have only unveiled the videos of the title release and a 3 minute and 3 second clip of ‘Ramayana: The Introduction’, giving a VFX heavy first look at Ranbir Kapoor as lord Rama and Yash as Ravana. The clip was released with the caption, “An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning.”It remains to be seen if the upcoming clip will give fans a detailed first look at Ranbir’s character, the film’s scale, visual aesthetic and score, which has been created by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
‘Rama’ first glimpse to release on April 2
On the occasion of Ram Navami, producer Namit Malhotra took to Instagram and revealed that the promotional video of the film will be released on Hanuman Jayanti on April 2. He wrote, “Shubh Rama Navami. This is a story that belongs to all of us, and every step we take has been guided by a deep sense of responsibility, devotion, and care to bring our very own Ramayana to life in its truest spirit and scale with utmost sincerity. We look forward to sharing the next glimpse, ‘Rama’ on 2nd April, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, as we begin to showcase all these years of our effort through a grand world reveal with fans, celebrating this moment across the world. Thank you for your love, faith, and patience.”
‘Ramayana’ cast and release date
Ahead of the ‘Rama’ first glimpse release, Ranbir, director Tiwari and producer Malhotra, headed to Los Angeles, where they debuted the first visuals from their film to a select audience at an IMAX screening. Early buzz indicates that the clip opened to positive reviews with one viral tweet saying, “Really looking forward to this one.”Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, the film will release worldwide with Part 1 debuting on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
