In an industry obsessed with perfection, Manisha Koirala is choosing to keep it real. The Heeramandi actress recently stepped out embracing her natural salt-and-pepper hair, choosing authenticity over artifice. Reflecting on the shift, she shares, “It feels like freedom. A quiet confidence. I’m no longer trying to fit into an idea of beauty – I’m simply being myself.”Ask her if there was a defining turning point behind ditching hair colour, and she says, “It wasn’t one moment. It was more like a gentle shift within. After everything life has shown me, authenticity began to matter more than appearance.” Given that there is a lot of emphasis on being flawless in showbiz, her choice has not gone unnoticed. “I believe beauty should expand, not limit. I hope it reminds people that grace and strength deepen with age. Yes, the pressure exists, but I’ve made peace with it. What is meant for me will find me, and I’d rather be authentic than be accepted for the wrong reasons.”
Her philosophy is deeply shaped by personal challenges, including her battle with ovarian cancer a few years ago. “Earlier, it was external. Now, it’s deeply internal; it’s about peace, resilience and kindness. That, to me, is beauty.”
