‘Shakti Shalini’: Viineet Kumar Singh joins Aneet Padda's horror film as antagonist

Viineet Kumar Singh has landed his next big film. The actor, who has been making waves for his recent performances in ‘Chhaava’ alongside Vicky Kaushal and ‘Jaat’ with Sunny Deol, has reportedly been cast as the lead antagonist in the Aneet Padda and Vishal Jethwa horror-comedy ‘Shakti Shalini’.Vineet Kumar cast as villain in ‘Shakti Shalini’Singh has reportedly already begun shooting for the film, which went into production last year, Variety India reports. ‘Shakti Shalini’, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, marks the sixth instalment in the Maddock Horror Universe, following the box office success of films like ‘Stree’, ‘Bhediya’, ‘Munjya’, ‘Stree 2’, and ‘Thamma’. About ‘Shakti Shalini’The project also reunites Jethwa and Padda after their collaboration in ‘Salaam Venky’, where their on-screen chemistry was widely appreciated by fans. While plot details remain under wraps, a teaser of the upcoming film was unveiled during the climax of ‘Thamma’. The clip introduced Padda as the titular character stepping up to send shivers down people’s spine, after wooing them in ‘Saiyaara’. ‘Shakti Shalini’ to shift release date?The film was originally slated to hit the big screen on December 24, however, rumours are rife that the film may opt for a different release date to avert a clash with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘King’, also arriving in theatres on the same date. December is also a packed month at the box office with Hollywood films – ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, ‘Dune: Part Three’ and ‘Jumanji 3’, all arriving within a span of 7 days. While ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Dune’ are expected to clash on December 18, ‘Jumanji’ postponed its release to arrive on December 25. Aneet Padda’s sister lands in controversyMeanwhile, Padda hit the headlines over the weekend, after her sister Reet Padda stirred controversy for calling the recently released film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ as ‘propaganda’. Amid growing criticism, Reet has deleted her Instagram handle. In addition, Reet has also deleted her LinkedIn.Aneet Padda’s box office successAneet created waves at the box office last year with her film ‘Saiyaara’ breaking all records to become the highest-grossing Bollywood romantic film of all time.
