Interestingly, the scriptures of mythology have some of the most unique yet mystical fruits that are worth knowing!KandmoolThis sacred fruit is basically a large, rare root-fruit from the mountains, which was mentioned in the books of Ramayana. Interestingly, this fruit has a brown exterior and a white, fleshy, crunchy interior. According to the books of mythology it was believed to be a staple food during the vanaprastha of Lord Rama and Sita and Laxman, it was during their exile in the forest. While it is a real plant, it is rare and not commonly cultivated.Narikela (Coconut)Coconut also known as Shriphala ‘God’s own fruit’ in Sanskrit is one of the most revered fruits in the Hindu mythology. From being an integral part of the Hindu rituals to being one of the most common naivedya for pujas, this one fruit holds a special place in Hindu mythology and is seen as a symbol of purity and the cleansing of negative thoughts. Pippala fruitPippala fruit hails from the Ashwatha tree, which is believed sacred according to the Hindu beliefs. The Pippala fruit finds its mention in the Rigveda and is believed to have a deep spiritual and ritualistic significance. While the tree and its small figs are real, their spiritual power and symbolic importance are mythical.BerThis fruit is linked to the story of Shabari, an ardent devotee of Lord Rama.
