John Hannah joins ‘The Mummy’ 4
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, actor John Hannah has confirmed that he will return to the franchise of ‘The Mummy’ 4. He is all set to reprise his role as Jonathan Carnahan. The upcoming film is all set for release sometime in 2028; however, it has already managed to create quite a buzz online.Not many details have been shared about the upcoming film; however, it has been revealed that Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are the masterminds behind the film. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, the duo shared a lot of excitement about ‘The Mummy’ 4. They stated, “It’s just really, really beautiful and scary and sweeping, and it’s awesome.”Over the years, Hannah has also talked about the hit franchise on multiple occasions. In January this year, there had been rumors that the actor was going to be reprising his character on the big screen. At the time, nothing had been confirmed, and the actor had also stated that he had only spoken about the possibility to a co-star. The Scottish actor, while talking to Radio Times, had said, “Not officially. I mean, I’ve heard and seen the rumours, same as everybody else, and that would be fun to do. It would be fun to hook up with everybody again.”
Premise of ‘The Mummy’
The entire franchise centers around Fraser’s character, who works as a treasure hunter and helps a bookkeeper who wants to unlock the Book of the Dead. While Weisz appeared in the first two films, she was recast and replaced by Mario Bello for ‘The Mummy Returns: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.’
