The actor passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84 in Mumbai after battling health issues, including respiratory complications.

‘I couldn’t attend his last rites’

Speaking to News18, Rajpal shared an emotional account of the time surrounding Asrani’s demise. “I had just shot with him and even shared a meal. Reuniting for Bhooth Bangla

Rajpal and Asrani were recently working together on Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Paresh Rawal, among others. The film will release in theatres on April 10. Recalling their time on set, Rajpal described an atmosphere filled with warmth and laughter. “Whenever Asrani sir was around, the entire unit would gather.
