Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues to win praise from across the film industry, and the latest to join the chorus is filmmaker Karan Johar. The director-producer said the blockbuster took him back to the era of 70s Hindi cinema, often experienced in single-screen theatres.
‘Reminded me of 70s solid Hindi cinema’
Taking to Instagram, Karan Johar shared a long note reflecting on the film’s impact and his personal connection to cinema.“The discussions on testosterone, hyper alpha energy and deep-rooted patriotism will continue as they must… but Dhurandhar 2 is so much more than that,” he wrote.He added, “The heart-wrenching backstory of Jaskirat… the heartbreaking sacrifices made for our motherland… the humanisation and layered backstory even of the antagonist… the impeccable craft… the soundscape and the all-round cinematic prowess prove the brilliance and directorial command of Aditya Dhar.”

Karan Johar was equally effusive in his praise for the film’s lead star Ranveer Singh.“Aur aur aur @ranveersingh tu kya hua yaar?! Ending his note on an emotional and nostalgic note, Johar said, “I went back to the days I watched pure solid Hindi cinema in single screens in the 70s… and came out satiated and dreamt of being a part of this business.” “Today I am a part of the fraternity and Dhurandhar reminded me of how proud and grateful I am to be here today,” he added.
