He was the 24th Tirthankara’s, known to be a teacher, who propagates the dharma in Jainism. One of the most well-known Jain saints, Lord Mahavir, is honored on this day. It is believed that throughout the pregnancy of Lord Mahavira, she experienced several fortunate dreams. Digambara Jains think she saw 14 dreams during her pregnancy, while the Svetambara Jains say that she saw 16. Lord Mahavir is believed to be the last and 24th Tirthankara in the Jain religion. Children are told a number of stories about Saint Mahavir in commemoration of the great saint.
