Drug bust in Khunti: Four arrested in Khunti with 39.78 kg of poppy bulbs; Police confirm involvement in opium cultivation

Ranchi: Khunti police on Tuesday arrested four persons with 39.78 kg of poppy bulbs and around 6 kg of opium like materials in an operation carried out under Jariagarh police station limits.Khunti superintendent of police, Manish Toppo, on Wednesday identified the arrested persons as Santosh Aind, Jivan Aind, Mahadeo Tunti and Jatha Sanga, all residents of the district.Police said that the accused admitted to their involvement in cultivation of poppy plants, which are used for making opium.
