The Himachal Pradesh Home Guards Department has released an official notification inviting online applications for the enrollment of 700 Home Guard volunteers under Advertisement No. 01/2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill positions across multiple categories, including General Duty, Bandmen, Drivers, and Technical Tradesmen. The online application process began earlier this month and will remain open until March 31, 2026 (11:59 PM). Candidates interested in serving in a voluntary capacity with the Home Guards are required to complete the application process through the official recruitment portal. Authorities have clarified that applications submitted through offline or alternative modes will not be accepted under any circumstances.
HP Home Guard recruitment 2026 vacancy distribution and dates
As per the official notification, the 700 vacancies have been distributed across different roles. A total of 358 posts are allocated to General Duty (Men) and 167 posts to General Duty (Women). Additionally, 74 vacancies are reserved for Bandmen, while 76 posts are earmarked for Drivers and 25 for Technical Tradesmen.The notification was issued on February 23, 2026, with the One Time Registration (OTR) process commencing from February 25, 2026. The submission of online applications started on March 2, 2026, and will continue until the deadline on March 31, 2026.

Candidates must apply online through the official Home Guards website or the designated recruitment portal. The process begins with One Time Registration (OTR) for new users. After successful registration, applicants are required to log in, fill in the Online Recruitment Application (ORA), and upload all necessary documents.Applicants must carefully review their forms before submission and provide a declaration confirming that all uploaded documents are clear, legible, and accurate. The application process will only be considered complete after payment of the prescribed fee. It is important to note that no corrections or modifications will be allowed once the application is submitted.
Important instructions and selection process
The department has emphasised strict compliance with application guidelines. Applications lacking a recent photograph and signature will be rejected outright. Similarly, submissions with unclear or poor-quality scanned documents may lead to disqualification.The schedule for the Physical Efficiency Test and Written Examination will be announced separately. Candidates will be informed about the admit card release through the official recruitment portal.
