‘The Housemaid’ sequel is officially underway! Only a few days ago, the creators of the first film, Paul Feig, confirmed that a second film is already in the works, and now the project is moving at full speed ahead. According to the latest reports, the famed ‘Spider-Man’ actress Kirsten Dunst has been selected as one of the actresses for the new film.

Kirsten Dunst cast for ‘The Housemaid’ sequel

While Sydney Sweeney has already been confirmed to reprise her role in the sequel, Deadline reported that Kirsten Dunst will join her. The president of the production company behind the film also issued a statement about onboarding Dunst to the cast. She cited, “It is a privilege to bring The Housemaid’s next chapter to the screen with Kirsten Dunst. She is an icon. Her career reflects extraordinary range and fearlessness. Opposite the ever-magnetic Sydney Sweeney, she will be an electrifying force in a world where nothing is ever quite as it seems.”Besides the two, director Paul Feig and scriptwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, both of whom worked on the first film, have also been confirmed to join the sequel project, raising excitement levels among fans. Enzo, who is played by Michele Morrone, will also return in the second film, ‘The Housemaid’s Secret.’ Kirsten Dunst last appeared opposite Channing Tatum in his latest endeavor, ‘The Roofman’. The film stars a runaway criminal who lives in the roof area of a toy store facility and meets a woman while trying to manage his double life and evade the police. This is also not the only sequel that the actress has been hired for. Only a few days ago, it was confirmed that Kirsten landed a major role in ‘The Minecraft’ movie sequel. She took to social media to announce the news, writing, “My dream came true (fire emoji and chicken leg emoji).”

About ‘The Housemaid’

The first film, ‘The Housemaid’, revolves around the story of a broke student who lands the role of a housemaid in a posh and high-end neighbourhood. At first, the family seems perfect. Rich, pristine, and a loving husband. Although things start to take a turn for the worse when she discovers a hidden room in the attic and the secrets and lies within the family begin to unravel one by one.
