Aamir Khan‘s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is all set for its digital debut. After its theatrical run, the actor-producer decided to release it on YouTube. He skipped the OTT premiere of the movie to encourage other producers to opt for a similar move. The audience had to pay an amount to watch the film on YouTube. And now, it is finally set to arrive on a streaming platform.

When and where to watch ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’

The streaming rights for the Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh starrer, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, have been acquired by Sony LIV. The movie will premiere on the platform in April this year.The streaming platform has announced the premiere date on its official social media handles. Hence, those who have missed watching it in theaters can enjoy the film from the comfort of their homes from April 3, 2026. The premiere coincides with the Good Friday long weekend. The caption of the post read, “Kisi ke liye alag… kisi ke liye normal… Sabka apna normal hota hai… A heartwarming story of Hope, heart, and healing… Watch #SitaareZameenPar #SabkaApnaApnaNormal, streaming from 3rd April.”

Aamir Khan’s stance on OTT release

Explaining his move to opt for the pay-per-view model instead of releasing the film on a streaming platform, Aamir Khan shared that the window between theatrical release and OTT premiere is quite small, which results in people not coming to watch the film on the big screens.Hence, he released it on YouTube, where a viewer has to pay Rs 100 to watch it.

The film stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles. It is an official remake of the Spanish film ‘Champions’. The movie went on to earn over Rs 250 crore globally. Directed by R S Prasanna, it was released in theaters in June last year. The pay-per-view model started on August 1, 2026.
