APSSB recruitment 2026: Registration begins for 984 Constable, Firemen, Special Tiger Guard posts; direct link here

The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has started the online application process for recruitment to multiple uniformed posts. Candidates can apply for a total of 984 vacancies, including Constable, Fireman and Special Tiger Guard posts.As per the official notice, only online applications will be accepted. Applications sent through any other mode will be rejected.Important dates

  • Start of application: March 23, 2026
  • Last date to apply: April 10, 2026 (3:00 PM)
  • Written exam (tentative): May 10, 2026
  • Physical tests (tentative): May 25, 2026 onwards

Vacancy details

The recruitment drive will fill 984 Group C posts across different departments. These include:

  1. Constable (Indian Reserve Battalion)
  2. Constable Civil Police (Male and Female)
  3. Constable Band and Bugler
  4. Fireman
  5. Special Tiger Guard

Out of the total vacancies, 67 posts are reserved for ex-servicemen.

Who can apply

Candidates must be citizens of India. Minimum qualification for most posts is Class 10 (matriculation) pass from a recognised board.Age limit is:

  • 18 to 22 years for most constable posts
  • 18 to 32 years for Fireman and Special Tiger Guard posts
  • Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per rules

Selection process

The recruitment will be done in stages:

  • Written examination (objective type)
  • Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Trade test (for specific posts)
  • Medical fitness test

Final selection will be based on performance in the written exam, along with qualifying other stages.

Exam pattern

The written exam will have 200 marks and include:

  • General Awareness
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • Numerical Ability
  • English Language

Candidates must score at least 33% marks to qualify. There is no negative marking.Application fee is ₹150 for Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) candidates, and ₹200 for unreserved candidates.
