'Bridgerton' star Regé-Jean Page champions rom-com revival with ‘You, Me, and Tuscany’, calls love timeless

Regé-Jean Page is determined to keep romantic comedies alive and thriving. In an exclusive interview, the ‘Bridgerton’ star opens up about his new film ‘You, Me, and Tuscany’, sharing his passion for the genre and the joy of filming alongside Halle Bailey.

The upcoming rom-com

In an interview with People Magazine, Jean Page noted that the upcoming rom-com, set for release on April 10, 2026, stars Page as Michael, a man who falls for Anna (Halle Bailey) even as she pretends to be engaged to his cousin. Page plays a key role in this Will Packer-produced project directed by Kat Coiro, filmed amid the stunning vineyards of Tuscany, Italy. He quickly signed on after a simple pitch from Packer. “Will and I had a real short conversation, and then he just texted me, ‘Tuscany in the summer?’ End of message,” Page recalled with a laugh. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I think we can do that.'”

Rege-Jean Page gives up a heads-up about the plot

Page raves about the magical location and his chemistry with Bailey. “And I had the opportunity to work with Halle Bailey every day, which made it even better. We truly enjoyed ourselves, creating a film about embracing your best life,” he shared. The duo first connected at a bustling event– where Bailey offered a friendly escape. “It’s a unique setting to meet someone, and we ended up just hanging out. Those kinds of events can be overwhelming, filled with so many notable figures. So finding someone who is like, ‘Hey, let’s be friends,’ was refreshing, especially since we were about to embark on this wonderful journey together,” Page explained.Tuscany itself became a character in the story, enhancing the romance. Bailey described it as “beautiful.” It looks like you’re in a screensaver. I tried to do a lot of stuff out there. I went to cooking classes, and we were in the vineyard a lot. ” For Page, the film captures the essence of rom-coms: overcoming obstacles through love and communication. “They focus on aspirations and the journey of stepping into your best life by trusting others and learning how to communicate through challenges,” he noted. “Not every film needs to revolve around who can hit the hardest. ” I believe in discussing issues and finding harmony both within oneself and with others, and it was a pleasure to explore that.”

Addressing the false rumour

Addressing rumors of the genre’s decline, Page pushes back firmly. “That could be part of it, the notion that the romantic comedy is fading. But love is certainly not gone. Love will prevail, and I’m proud to champion that notion,” he declared. At 38, Page views his career with gratitude, surrounded by supportive peers in Hollywood’s challenging landscape.Fans can look forward to a feel-good escape that celebrates connection over conflict. ‘ You, Me and Tuscany’ promises to remind audiences why rom-coms endure.
