Sivakarthikeyan’s salary for ‘Seyon’ revealed, opts for 70% profit-sharing with Kamal Haasan’s production banner - Reports
Actor Bharath candidly discussed the volatile nature of the film industry at the ‘Kaalidas 2’ audio launch, emphasizing that an actor’s market value is dictated by their last film’s performance. He highlighted the crucial role of a good director in an actor’s career and reflected on ‘Kaalidas’ as his significant comeback film.

The massive success of ‘Amaran’ has raised Sivakarthikeyan‘s market value, and reports say the actor has entered an interesting remuneration contract for his next film ‘Seyon.’ Siva Karthikeyan is currently one of the most popular stars in Tamil cinema due to the success of movies like ‘Doctor,’ ‘Don,’ and ‘Amaran.’ The new film, produced by Kamal Haasan under the banner Raaj Kamal Films International, is the next collaboration between the two stars and has already generated a lot of excitement among fans and in the film industry.

Sivakarthikeyan’s massive salary plan

Unlike the usual big paychecks, Sivakarthikeyan has reportedly opted for a profit-sharing model for ‘Seyon.’ As per Zee News, the actor has received only a basic advance of around Rs 10 crore for the film. The remaining earnings will come from profit share once the film performs well at the box office. Sivakarthikeyan will reportedly take nearly 70 percent of the profits, while Raaj Kamal Films International will hold the remaining 30 percent share. This model is similar to how the actor worked on films like ‘Madharasi’ and ‘Parasakthi,’ where a basic salary structure was reportedly followed.

‘Seyon’ – Budget, business, and expected earnings

Interestingly, the film is expected to be made on a relatively compact budget of around Rs 35 crore, which includes Sivakarthikeyan’s Rs 10 crore advance. However, the minimum business expectation for the film is said to be around Rs 120 crore through theatrical, satellite, and digital rights. If the formula holds true, Sivakarthikeyan stands to make over Rs 60 crore on this film with the revenue-sharing terms. This would effectively make his earnings on the film among the biggest in the business.

Project scale and growing market value

The film is reportedly being directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and is designed as a commercial entertainer with strong family appeal. With the recent hit and growing fan following of Sivakarthikeyan, film distributors and exhibitors are assured of their films making it to the theaters. Consequently, ‘Seyon’ is expected to result in good pre-release business, even though the production costs are moderate. If the film is a box-office hit, the profit-sharing may help propel Sivakarthikeyan into the league of top-earning stars in Tamil cinema.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
