Bhubaneswar: IMD forecast on Friday said light to moderate rain or thunderstorm possibility would continue at isolated places in several districts for next six days till March 27.The forecast has come with orange and yellow warning for thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 km per hour likely to continue in two districts — Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts on Saturday. Besides, IMD yellow warning would continue in four more districts.Such forecast came with light to moderate rain or thunderstorm activities experienced at some places during the day. Keonjhargarh recorded highest 20 mm rainfall during the day, said the IMD.Similarly, several places in parts of interior Odisha districts experienced light to moderate rain or thunderstorm activities accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind in last 24 hours. Koraput received highest of 42.6 mm rainfall during the period in the state, said IMD rainfall report recorded in the morning. Nuagada in Gajapati district followed at 42 mm.Thunderstorm activities at several places influenced drop in day temperature. Chandbali recorded highest 36.6°C during the day. City recorded maximum 35.2°C. Manorama Mohanty, head of regional IMD centre in the city, said thunderstorm activities warning would continue only in select districts in next two days.
