The Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (UP Board) has announced a temporary pause in the evaluation of answer sheets for the 2026 High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) examinations. As per an official notice issued on March 20, 2026, the evaluation process, which began on March 18 and is scheduled to continue until April 1, will be suspended on two occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Ram Navami. The decision has been taken to accommodate major religious observances during the evaluation window. District School Inspectors across all districts have been informed to ensure compliance at designated evaluation centres.
UP Board evaluation schedule remains unchanged overall
According to the notice issued by the Board of Secondary Education Uttar Pradesh, the overall timeline for evaluation remains from March 18 to April 1, 2026. The temporary suspension applies only to specific dates and does not alter the broader schedule. Evaluation centres across the state have already commenced the checking process for both Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets.
No evaluation work on major festival dates
The board has directed that evaluation work will remain suspended on March 21, 2026, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which will be observed depending on the local sighting of the moon. Additionally, evaluation will also be halted on March 26, 2026, in view of Ram Navami.This step ensures that evaluators and staff are able to observe these important festivals without disruption.
Instructions issued to district officials
The official communication, signed by Secretary Bhagwati Singh, has been addressed to District School Inspectors in all districts of Uttar Pradesh. Authorities have been instructed to strictly implement the pause in evaluation work on the specified dates at all evaluation centres.
