Watch: Red Bull F1 car gets traditional Indian aarti and ‘nimbu mirchi’ ritual in viral clip

A Red Bull Formula 1 car got a traditional Indian welcome, and the video is going viral. People are talking about it because it is such a rare mix of modern racing and cultural traditions. What makes it special is how naturally the moment connects with everyday life in a country where these rituals are part of daily culture.

A traditional start for a racing machine

In the video, members of the Red Bull team are seen performing a puja for their Formula 1 car. Instead of a standard unveiling, the team chose to include rituals that are commonly followed during new beginnings in India.A female crew member placed a flower garland on the car to begin the ceremony. She then attached a nimbu mirchi, which is believed to protect from the evil eye. A tilak was also applied to the front of the car. This was followed by an aarti, and the ritual ended with a coconut being broken on the ground, a common practice to seek blessings and good luck.

Social media shares reactions

As the video spread online, people started reacting in large numbers. The responses included both appreciation and humour. One user commented, “Parampara, Prathista, Anushashan.”Another wrote, “Red bull gives you wings, but nimbu mirchi keeps them safe.”A third added, “Most probably the first instance in the world of puja on an F1 car.”The video was captioned, “The Red Bull F1 Car Pooja!” and also included the line, “First in the bloodline to see an F1 car pooja.”Thumb image: Instagram
