Anthony Joshua is slowly finding his way back to boxing, and this time it feels different. After months of recovery following a serious car crash, the former heavyweight champion has now stepped back into a proper training camp. What makes it more interesting is that he is working again with Oleksandr Usyk’s team, a familiar setup from the past. This update comes at a time when fans are still unsure about his exact return date. Joshua has been taking things step by step, focusing first on healing his body and dealing with personal loss. Now, with training intensity increasing, there is finally a clearer direction about what could come next in his career.

Anthony Joshua links with Oleksandr Usyk team again as Eddie Hearn shares comeback timeline after injury recovery

Anthony Joshua has not rushed this comeback. After the accident, he spent time doing light training at Finchley Amateur Boxing Club, the same place where his journey began. Alongside that, he continued physical therapy to rebuild strength. Now, he has moved into a more serious training phase. He has linked up again with trainer Iegor Golub, who worked with him in his last fight against Jake Paul. Golub has long been part of Oleksandr Usyk’s team, and that connection is now playing a key role in Joshua’s return.Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn also gave a clear update while speaking on The Stomping Ground. He addressed the ongoing talk around a possible Tyson Fury fight and made it clear nothing is confirmed yet.“There is absolutely nothing signed with Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury next. There is nothing agreed,” Hearn said.He also explained how plans changed after the accident. “There has been conversations and deep conversations as well prior to obviously the accident that he was going to fight Jake Paul, then he was going to fight in February or March in Saudi Arabia, then he was going to fight Tyson Fury.”Right now, the focus is only on Joshua’s recovery and readiness. Hearn added, “We are more than up for that fight, but AJ needs to go back into camp and we need to understand physically how long it will take him to return to boxing, and we are not rushing him and he isn’t rushing himself.”That careful approach means fans may have to wait a bit longer. Hearn suggested a possible return toward the end of summer if everything goes well. “But right now, there isn’t even any guarantee he returns to the ring,” he said. There is still hope for a Tyson Fury fight later. “If all goes well, I think there’s a good chance you’ll see him return July, August time, and then potentially fight Tyson Fury November, December of 2026,” Hearn explained. For now, the main focus remains simple, get Anthony Joshua fully fit, back in rhythm, and ready for whatever comes next.
