NMC extends deadline for medical colleges to upload first-year MBBS admission data on portal

NEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended the deadline for medical colleges to upload details of students admitted to the first-year MBBS course for the academic session 2025–26 on its admission portal.According to an official notice issued by the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), institutions will now be able to submit the required admission information on the NMC portal until March 31, 2026, midnight.Extension granted for completion of admission dataThe extension has been provided to allow medical colleges additional time to complete the process of uploading accurate admission information. The Commission said the decision followed requests from institutions seeking more time to finalise and submit complete student details.The notice stated that several representations had been received asking for the portal to be reopened to facilitate the submission of pending admission information. In response, the NMC decided to allow institutions to update the admission records within the revised timeframe.The Commission clarified in its communication that medical colleges and institutes must ensure that all required student information is uploaded on the portal before the new deadline. It also stated that no further extension will be granted for submitting admission details after the stipulated date.Directions issued to college authoritiesThe notice has been addressed to Directors, Deans and Principals of medical colleges across the country. They have been instructed to complete the submission process through the designated NMC admission portal.Institutions have also been directed to follow the prescribed guidelines while uploading the admission information to ensure that the details are recorded correctly and in accordance with the Commission’s procedures.

The communication further emphasised that the responsibility for completing the process rests with the heads of the institutions and administrative authorities managing the admission records.Advisory to states and affiliated institutionsThe NMC has also shared the notice with State and Union Territory Medical Education Departments as well as Directorates of Medical Education. These authorities have been requested to make sure that all the affiliated medical colleges submit their admission data according to the new timeline.The medical colleges have been advised to check the admission data carefully and upload it according to the new timeline. The uploading of the admission data on the portal is necessary for the official documentation of the admissions for the MBBS session 2025-26.
