The Indian Navy has commenced the process of accepting applications for the Agniveer Sailor recruitment drive for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. The drive has invited young and aspiring candidates across the country to apply for the various roles under the government’s military recruitment drive.The process of accepting applications has commenced on March 14, 2026, and will remain open until April 6, 2026. The drive is for Agniveer Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR), Agniveer Matric Recruit (MR), and SSR (Medical) sailors. The drive gives an applicant the chance to be a part of one of the most technologically advanced defense forces in the country.The process of recruitment will begin with the Indian Navy Entrance Test 2026. Following the test, the candidates will go through a series of physical, academic, and medical tests before the recruitment process is complete.

Recruitment under the Agniveer scheme

The present drive is a part of the Agniveer scheme, which is a significant change to India’s military recruitment model. This has been implemented by the Government of India to recruit fresh talent into the military services. As a part of this scheme, the Indian Navy is looking to recruit candidates for various roles within its sailor cadre.The recruitment for Agniveer SSR and Agniveer MR positions is available to both male and female candidates.
